Delhi, India: The Indian Navy boat “Barasingha” was bought to Delhi to unpolluted the Yamuna River. The Indian Navy carried out a navigability assessment on its first trip between Signature Bridge and ITO Barrage. The boat is 11 meters long and has a draft of 1.7 meters. Barasingha can navigate rivers without any problems, the assessment was conducted to clarify the usability of using the river as an inland waterway for transport, un-pollution, recreation, and the spread of tourism. As per the reports, Barasingha is a working boat. It was primarily designed to carry out certain types of activities. Mainly, Barasingha is responsible for transporting goods, it also includes surveying.

Currently, the boat has been regulated to assign the duty of cleaning the Yamuna River. As per Indian Navy, the Barasingha boat is equipped with a powerful engine and other modern features to carry out the river cleaning process.
