Julius Dubose once said in an interview about his inspiration to become a rapper, as he was deeply influenced by the sounds and raps of popular rappers such as Kanye West, 50 Cents, and Lil Wayne. Dubose gained interest in music and writing songs especially rap during his school time.

The first mixtape “Artist” played a key role in establishing a dominant position of Julius Dubose in the contemporary hip-hop music scene. It was a commercial success, the music album reached 28th position on the Billboard charts.
Gaining huge fame after the release of “Artist” in 2016, Julius continued to release other successful mixtapes. In 2017 he released “The Bigger Artist” followed by Hoodie SZN in 2018.
